FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
City to Host Halloween Costume Swap Saturday, Oct. 12
Edina, Minn., Oct. 3, 2025 – Halloween is fang-tastically fun, but this holiday also creates a scary large amount of pollution. Instead of buying a new costume this year, creep over
to the City of Edina’s swap and bring that boo-tiful bundle of getups. It'll be a real treat! This reuse-focused event will be held 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, at the Edina Senior Center,
5280 Grandview Square.
The costume swap is open to everyone, including nonresidents and families. Participants are encouraged to bring costumes that are clean, dry and in good shape to swap with other people,
but no donation is required to join, and everything is free to take home. Leftover items will be donated.
Pre drop-off is available Oct. 6-10 at the Edina Senior Center lobby during business hours or costumes can be brought directly to the event.
Costumes for all ages and types are encouraged for the swap for both humans and pets. Only registered service animals are allowed in the building for the swap.
Don’t leave personal items unattended and keep food and beverages away from costumes.
“Why spend a frightful fortune on something you’ll wear once? A swap saves your cents and makes sense, proving sustainability doesn’t have to be scary,” said Organics Recycling Coordinator
Twila Singh. “Each swapped costume is money back in your pocket and one less item headed for the landfill, a small choice that adds up to monstrously big savings for you and the planet.”
A few more volunteers. If interested, email Singh at tsingh@EdinaMN.gov.
