A panel of communications professionals chose the winning photographs from 67 submissions. The photos were judged on a variety of elements including composition, lighting, relevance to each category, and degree of difficulty. “I always look forward to reviewing the submissions each year with the magazine and our team of judges,” said Dan Doar, City of Edina Graphic Designer and event co-organizer. “It’s so hard to choose winners from each category because we get so many spectacular photos.” The winners of the 2025 Images of Edina Contest are: Activities & Events – “Fireworks & Friends” by Denis Plaster Business – “97th Birthday at Dave & Buster’s Southdale” by Stephanie Thomas People – “Fishing Lessons at Centennial Lakes Farmers Market” by Stephanie Thomas Places in Edina – “Over Edina” by Liam Hart Plants & Animals – “Great White Egret” by Mark Bergeron Readers’ Choice – “Edina, Marched in Cursive” by Juli Seeger Of the category winners, Hart’s “Over Edina” was announced as the overall “Best in Show” winner at the reception. It is an aerial photo of Southdale Center taken from an airplane. “We feel incredibly lucky to have so many gifted photographers who are willing to share their talents with the City and Edina Magazine. We are already looking forward to seeing the submissions next year and hope all photographers in Edina, no matter their experience level, will consider participating!” said Doar.
