I. Call to Order
Chair Westlund called the meeting to order at 4:32 p.m.
2. Roll Call
Members Present: Laura Westlund, Brian Stemmler, Jignasha Pandya, Alana Zbaren,
Maxine Steinberg, Caroline Byrd, Student Commissioner Anna Schenk
Members Absent: Ann Curtin, Alyssa Fram, Tim Scully
Staff Present: Staff Liason Laura Fulton, Park Director Perry Vetter
3. Approval of Meeting Agenda
Chair Westlund introduced Commissioner Pandya at the beginning of the meeting.
Commissioners went around the table to introduce themselves. After introductions,
Chair Westlund called for the commission to approve the meeting agenda.
Steinberg made a motion to approve the March 27, 2025 meeting agenda.
Motion seconded by Byrd.
Motion Passed
4. Approval of Meeting Minutes
4.1. Minutes
Commissioner Byrd made a motion to approve the meeting minutes from the
January 23, 2025 meeting. Motion seconded by Commissioner Pandya.
Motion Passed
S. Elections
5.1. Elections
Vice Chair Zbaren made a motion to Elect Commissioner Westlund as Chair
of the Arts and Culture Commission for 2025/2026. Motion seconded by
Commissioner Steinberg.
Ayes: Laura Westlund, Brian Stemmler, Jignasha Pandya, Alana Zbaren, Maxine Steinberg,
Caroline Byrd
No: None
Motion Passed
Chair Westlund made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Stemmler, to
Elect Commissioner Zbaren as the Vice -Chair of the Arts and Culture
Commission for 2025/2026.
Ayes: Laura Westlund, Brian Stemmler, Jignasha Pandya, Alana Zbaren, Maxine Steinberg,
Caroline Byrd
Nays: None
Motion Passed
6. Special Recognitions and Presentations
6.1. Minneapolis —St. Paul International Film Festival - Megan Feeney
Megan Feeney presented to the Commission about the opportunities to promote and
volunteer at the 2025 MSPIFF Edina Theater Screeinings. There will be a launch reception
on Friday, April 4th from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Commission discussed the excitement
surrounding the event and Feeney presented multiple ways the commission could help,
along with information about the films that will be presented at the Edina Theater.
Commission thanked Feeney for all her work on the MSPIFF and commended her for
helping facilitate bringing MSPIFF to Edina.

8. Reports/Recommendations
8.1. Workplan Update
Initiative 1.1.I.Art Center Colocation at Southdale Library
Fulton reported that Hennepin County presented the site plan at the Planning
Commission meeting on March 12, 2025.
No other updates at this time.
Initiative 1.1.2 Edina Art Grant Program
Commissioner Byrd updated the Commission on the applications that have been received
thus far in the process. Commissioners on this initiative plan to meet mid -April to select
the recipients for the 2025 grant season and will present to the Commission at the April
meeting.
Initiative 1.1.3 Reveiw Public Art Opportunities
Chair Westlund reported about meeting with Char Hovi from Visual Arts in Edina about
the public art opportunity at the new fire station and community health building.
Fulton reported on a program where the City will put out a call for public art on loan
that will be opening soon.
Initiative 1.1.4 Commission Participation in Community Events
Chair Westlund mentioned the MSPIFF that is coming up and to contact Megan if you are
interested in volunteering.
Commissioner Stemmler discussed general opportunities to promote art in Edina.
Commissioners discussed how to move forward with events to make them more
interactive.
Initiative I.1.5 Utility Art Box Wraps
Fulton updated the commission about the timeline for posting a call for art for the Utility
Box Wrap in Summer 2025.
Initiative 1.1.6 City Code Update
No update at this time.
9. Chair and Member Comments
Chair Westlund thanked Commissioner Jen Faeth for all the work she did as a
Commissioner and wished her well in the future.
10. Staff Comments
Fulton presented commissioners with a new list of upcoming programs at the Art Center
and reminded them to look at the calendar for upcoming events and meetings.

Vice Chair Zbaren made a motion to adjourn the meeting.. Motion seconded
by Commissioner Steinberg.
