1. Call to Order
Chair Westlund called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m.
2. Roll Call
Members Present: Ann Curtin, Tim Scully, Laura Westlund, Alyssa Fram, Alana Zbaren,
Maxine Steinberg
Members Absent: Brian Stemmler, Caroline Byrd, Jignasha Pandya
Staff Present: Recreation Supervisor, Laura Fulton
3. Approval of Meeting Agenda
Commissioner Fram made a motion to approve meeting agenda.
Motion seconded by Commissioner Scully.

4. Approval of Meeting Minutes
4.1. Minutes
Commissioner Steinberg made a motion to approve meeting minutes.
Motion seconded by Vice Chair Zbaren.

5. Special Recognitions and Presentations
Commissioner Westlund thanked Brian Stemmler for his four years on the Commission.
Stemmler stepped down from the Commission in July.

7. Reports/Recommendations
7.1. Arts and Culture Commission Workplan Update
1.1.1 Art Center Colocation
No updates at this time.
1.1.2 Edina Art Grant Program
Fram updated the Commission on the progress made by Art Grant recipeints.
1.1.3 Review Public Art Opportunities
No updates at this time.
1.1.4 Commission Participation in Community Events
Commission members expressed joy in participation in the Fourth of July Parade.
Participants had a great time and the stickers were very popular.
The umbrellas were a hit.
Westlund discussed participation at the Fall into the Arts Festival. Initiative members will
work on a creative table.
1.1.5 Utility Box Art Wraps
Westlund, Fram and Zbaren discussed how the selections were made for the utility box
art wraps. Over 110 submissions came in for the call for art and there were 62 unique
users who submitted art.
Commissioner Steinberg made a motion to approve the selection of utility
box art brought forth by the initiative group. Motion seconded by Vice Chair
Zbaren.

1.1.6 City Code Update
Fulton updated commission members on the process for updating city code for the Arts
and Council Commission. City staff is working on updating the purpose statement for the
Commission as well as condensing the duties of the commission. Proposed changes will
be brought to commission once staff has reviewed changes.

9. Staff Comments
Fulton announced that Jennifer Faeth and Laura Brown have been hired at the Art
Center to fill Jeanette Colby's position. Commission expressed excitement at the new
hires.
Commission thanked Anna Shenk for all her work as a Student Commissioner this year.

Commissioner Curtin made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 5 p.m.
