RESOLUTION NO. 2025-113
AUTHORIZING THE USE OF THE CONSERVATION & SUSTAINABILITY FUND
FOR SOLAR PV AT FIRE STATION #2
WHEREAS, in 2021, the city adopted a Climate Action Plan, committing to reducing greenhouse gas emissions 45
percent by 2030 and achieve net zero emissions by 2050; and
WHEREAS, the Climate Action Plan includes a strategy to achieve 100% renewable electricity for municipal operations;
and
WHEREAS, on-site renewable energy generation provides carbon-free electricity to the building and increases the
buildings resiliency to climate change; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Station #2 project includes rooftop solar photovoltaic panels to generate electricity for the
building.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, to satisfy requirements from Minnesota Department of Management and
Budget (MMB) to receive Capital Bonding Funds for the project, the Edina City Council hereby authorizes the use of up
to $200,000 from the Conservation & Sustainability Fund to supplement the project budget to purchase and install solar
photovoltaic panels at Fire Station #2.
