RESOLUTION NO. 2025-126
APPROVING A GRANT AGREEMENT FOR THE LIVABLE COMMUNITIES ACT POLICY
DEVELOPMENT GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City of Edina has been awarded a grant as part of the Livable Communities Act
Policy Development Grant Program by the Metropolitan Council in the amount of $50,000; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the grant is to fund consultant expenses related to the Zoning and
Subdivision Ordinance Update, which is intended to better align the City’s land use regulations with the
Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City has identified that the Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance Update project
meets the Policy Development Grant program’s purposes and criteria and is consistent with and promotes
the purposes of the Metropolitan Livable Communities Act and the policies of the Metropolitan Council’s
adopted metropolitan development guide; and
WHEREAS, the City of Edina is a participant in the Livable Communities Act’s Local Housing
Incentives Account Program for 2025 as determined by the Metropolitan Council, and is therefore eligible
to receive Livable Communities Demonstration Account funds; and
WHEREAS, the City has the institutional, managerial and financial capability to ensure adequate
project administration; and
WHEREAS, the City certifies that in accepting the grant, it will comply with all applicable laws and
regulations as stated in the grant agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that City of Edina approves a grant agreement for
the Livable Communities Act Policy Development Grant Program by the Metropolitan Council.
