Residents Asked to Respond to Survey for Zoning Code Update
Edina, Minn., Dec. 2, 2025 – Edina residents are asked to take a new survey that will help shape the update of Edina’s Zoning Code and subdivision ordinances.
The survey is mostly multiple choice and takes about 10 to 15 minutes to complete. You do not need to know anything about the existing Zoning Code to respond to the survey. It asks questions
such as:
What’s your current housing type?
If you were to move within Edina, what housing type would you prefer?
What kinds of housing does Edina need?
Should more amenities be within walking or biking distance of where people live?
Take the survey at bit.ly/edinazoningsurvey. Please note you must be registered on the BetterTogetherEdina.org site to take the survey; registration is free.
Your feedback will help inform City staff and the consultants as they begin drafting updates to the zoning and subdivision regulations. The existing zoning ordinance hasn’t had a major
update since 1970. An audit identified numerous issues and recommendations for improvement that the update will address.
The survey closes Monday, Jan. 12, 2026.
