Edina Fire Responds to Nordic Drive Garage Fire
Edina, Minn., Jan. 22, 2026 – The Edina Fire Department responded to a garage fire at 6504 Nordic Drive around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20.
Four residents were in the home when they smelled smoke and found their attached garage filled with thick black smoke. They were unable to identify the source of the smoke and called
911 while evacuating the home with their children and pets.
When firefighters arrived, they found the fire was contained to the garage and they were able to extinguish it quickly. The Fire Prevention Bureau is unable to determine the exact cause
but cannot rule out electrical sources or a possible battery fire.
There were no injuries to the residents, pets or Paramedic/Firefighters who responded to the fire. Since the fire was contained to the garage and minimal smoke damage spread to the house,
the residents were able to return to their home.
The Edina Fire Department extends its appreciation to its mutual aid partners, including Richfield Fire and St. Louis Park Fire. Incident support was received from the Edina Police Department.
