Free Car Seat Checkups
Edina, Minn., Jan. 30 – Edina Fire Station 2, 4401 W. 76th St., will host a series of free Car Seat Checkups in 2026, with the first one taking place from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb.

“As car seats are improved for safety, they become more confusing to install,” said Marie Segar, Edina Fire Prevention Administrative Assistant. “Studies show that 46% of car seats are
not installed correctly. Edina Fire is excited to host car seat checks with trained technicians from Children's Hospital to help families ensure our youngest residents are riding safely.”
Participants should bring their car seat and/or booster seats already installed, their child safety restraint device manual and their vehicle and vehicle manuals. Drop-ins are welcome,
but appointments are preferred.
Other checkups will take place 3-5 p.m. April 16, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. June 18, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Aug. 20, 3-5 p.m. Oct. 15 and 3-5 p.m. Dec. 17.
