Arden Park Project Open House Set for Aug. 23
Edina, Minn., Aug. 7, 2018 – The third open house on the design phase of the Arden Park Restoration Project is set for 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at Arden Park, 5230 Minnehaha Blvd.
Visitors to the open house will see detailed plans of many aspects of the project as the design phase is about 90 percent complete.
Staff from the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD) and the City of Edina will be on hand with displays to explain various aspects of the project, including creek remeandering,
tree preservation, new recreation opportunities, a new playground and nature restoration. Please bring your questions and give your feedback.
In the case of inclement weather, the open house will be moved to Edina City Hall, 4801 W. 50th St.
The restoration project is a joint effort of the MCWD and the City. Among the improvements are new trails and creek access areas, a new park shelter and improved stormwater management.
Formal presentations at the 90 percent design mark will be made at the following public meetings:
Edina Parks & Recreation Commission, 7 p.m. Sept. 4 at Edina City Hall
Edina City Council, 7 p.m. Sept. 20, Edina City Hall
MCWD Board of Managers, 7 p.m. Sept. 27, MCWD office, 15320 Minnetonka Blvd.
