Housing Strategy Task Force
City of Edina, Minnesota
VIRTUAL MEETING
The Housing Strategy Task Force meeting will be held using Webex software and
recorded. The meeting will be streamed live on the City’s YouTube channel,
YouTube.com/EdinaTV. The recording will be available on the City's website the
next day. The public also can call 415-655-0001, Access code 133 156 1448 to listen
into the meeting via phone. There is no community comment at the meeting.

I. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at approximately 7:10 AM.
II. Roll Call
Present: Co-Chairs Hornig and Hunt, Members Brown, Kitui, Koon, and Siekman; Staff
Liaison Hawkinson; Staff Karim; Consultant Clapp-Smith
Absent: Member Burke
III. Approval of Meeting Agenda
Member Koon moved, seconded by Member Brown to approve the Agenda as presented.
Motion carried.
IV. Approval of Meeting Minutes from August 19, 2020
Member Brown moved, seconded by Member Koon to approve the minutes as presented.
Motion carried.
V. Discussion Items
a. Draft Report: The Task Force provided initial comments on the report outline, primarily
pertaining to tone and perspective. They will continue providing comments on a hard
copy over the next two weeks.
b. Community Engagement: Engagement could occur in a few ways:
- The Task Force members themselves are community members who have a
variety of perspectives.
- The draft report will be presented to the Planning Commission, Human
Rights and Relations Commission and Edina Housing Foundation, which are
comprised of community members, to garner their feedback.
- The draft report will be posted on Better Together Edina to be available for
community feedback.
- Staff Hawkinson will work with Community Engagement and
Communications staff to develop a plan to reach out to residents who may
not be familiar with Better Together Edina.
- Sending out a survey is still an option.

The meeting concluded at approximately 8:50 AM.
