Housing Strategy Task Force

The Housing Strategy Task Force meeting will be held using Webex software and
recorded. The meeting will be streamed live on the City’s YouTube channel,
YouTube.com/EdinaTV. The recording will be available on the City's website the

into the meeting via phone. There is no community comment at the meeting.

I. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at approximately 7:02 AM.
II. Roll Call
Present: Co-Chairs Hornig and Hunt, Members Brown, Burke, Kitui, Koon, and Siekman;
Staff Liaison Hawkinson; Consultant Clapp-Smith
III. Approval of Meeting Agenda
Member Brown moved to approve an amended Agenda to include: Report Structure,
Timeline, and New Strategy. Member Koon seconded. Motion carried.
IV. Approval of Meeting Minutes from October 7, 2020
Member Brown moved, seconded by Member Kitui to approve the minutes as presented.
Motion carried.
V. Discussion Items
1. Draft Report: The Task Force had a robust discussion on the Report structure to
determine whether the supporting and contextual information should be presented
upfront with the Goals and Strategies following or if the context should be presented with
each Goal and Strategy. There was the general feeling that the final report should be user
friendly by not being overly long and robust. Member Brown presented a Table that
illustrated housing demand that helped guide the discussion.
2. New Proposed Strategy: Member Brown withdrew his request.
3. Timeline: The Task Force missed some benchmarks, but the discussion prepared them to
make up time at the October 21st meeting. The end goal of December 10 to present to
the HRA remains.
