1. Call to Order
Chair Wright called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m.
2. Roll Call
Answering roll call: Commissioners Bildsten, Bruhschwein, Davidson, Lewis, Lukens, Olson, Vandelist,
Bracken, Wright
Absent: Commissioner Rosen, Lassig
Staff present: Transportation Planner Andrew Scipioni
3. Approval of Meeting Agenda
Motion was made by Commissioner Lewis and seconded by Commissioner Bruhschwein to approve the
agenda. All voted aye. Motion carried.
4. Approval of Meeting Minutes
Motion was made by Commissioner Bildsten and seconded by Commissioner Lewis to approve the
May 28, 2026 meeting minutes. All voted aye. Motion carried.
5. Community Comment
Chris Gottlieb, 5345 Division St, testified about Item A3 on the Traffic Safety Report of May 26, 2026.
Gottlieb supported additional safety measures at this intersection, noting that cars often don’t stop for
pedestrians and speed.
6. Reports/Recommendations
6.1. 2025 Pedestrian and Cyclist Safety Fund Summary Report
Liaison Scipioni presented the 2025 Pedestrian and Cyclist Safety Fund Summary Report for review and
comment.
6.2. Traffic Safety Report of May 26, 2026
The Commission reviewed and commented on the recommendations of the Traffic Safety Committee.
Item A3: Request to increase crosswalk treatment at Interlachen Blvd and Vandervork Ave
Motion was made by Commissioner Vandelist and seconded by Commissioner Bruhschwein to
recommend a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon in coordination with the anticipated 2027
Interlachen Blvd street reconstruction project. All voted aye. Motion carried.
6.3. 2026/2027 Work Plan Updates
1. Safe and Equitable Mobility Action Plan Participation – No update.

2. Traffic Safety Standards – Committee reviewing monthly traffic safety requests by category,
reviewing guiding documents and policies related to traffic safety.
3. Innovative Traffic Calming Solutions – No update.

7.1. Transportation Projects Update
Liaison Scipioni provided an update on current and proposed transportation projects in and around
Edina.
7.2. 2026 Meeting Dates
The Commission’s next regular meeting is Thursday, July 16 at 6pm at Edina City Hall.

9. Adjournment
Motion was made by Commissioner Wright and seconded by Commissioner Vandelist to adjourn the
June 18, 2026 regular meeting at 7:58p.m. All voted aye. Motion carried.
