Re: e Vacation of Sh.rewood Avenue between West 64th Street and Crosstown Highway
Dear Mrs. Hallberg
As per our phone conversation of November 21, 1968, I wish to advise you that

on November 21, 1968. An easement, together wiw a letter of explanation,
has been prepared and sent to Mr. Harold J DeVries in Wheaton, Illinois,
via air mail on November 21, 1968.
from Mr. DeVries.
As of this date, we have had no reply
We, therefore, respectively request the Village Council of the Village of
Edina to deny or delay the request for vacation of this street until the
Minneapolis Gas Company has secured an acceptable easement from Mr. DeVries.

Gentlemen:
I am sorry about this inconvenience to you in again requesting the following,
as the owner of record of Lots 1 and 2 of Block 1, Broad Oak Addition:
These lots are located on the Northeast corner of Sherwood Avenue and
64th Street.
The purpose of this letter is to respectfully request consideration from
the Village to abandon that portion of Sherwood Avenue north of the curb
line of the north side of 64th Street subject to the usual easement as com-
patible with the then two adjoining lots to the east and west.
It is the writer's intention to incorporate that portion of the street in con-
junction with Lot 2 and develop a 12-foot wide drive from 64th Street to
connect with the garage apron of the building on Lot 2.
It is believed that this method will add some finesse and charm to that area
and will eliminate some maintenance from the Village.
