OF THE WORK SESSION OF THE
EDINA CITY COUNCIL
HELD AT CITY HALL
OCTOBER 7, 2014
6:00 P.M.
Mayor Pro Tern Swenson reconvened the work session at 6:05 p.m. in the Community Room of City
Hall.
ROLLCALL
Answering rollcall were Members Bennett, Brindle, Sprague and Mayor Pro Tern Swenson. Mayor
Hovland was absent.
Staff attending the meeting included: Ross Bintner, Environmental Engineer; Lindy Crawford, City
Management Fellow; Michael Frey, Art Center General Manager; Ann Kattreh, Park and Recreation
Director; Karen Kurt, Assistant City Manager; Debra Mangen, City Clerk; Chad Millner, City Engineer;
Scott Neal, City Manager;-and Cary Teague, Planning Director.
Board and Commission Chair Persons and Vice Chairs attending included: Ray Meifert, Arts & Culture
Commission; Melinda Bothun-Hurley, Community Health Commission; John Heer, Energy &
Environment Commission; Ryan Weber, Heritage Preservation Board; Jan Seidman and Patricia
Arseneault , Human Rights & Relations Commission; Daniel Gieseke, Park Board; Kevin Staunton and
Michael Platteter, Planning Commission; and Katherine Bass, Transportation Commission.
Mayor Pro Tern Swenson noted the purpose of the work session was to discuss review the 2015 Work
Plans with the Board and Commission Chair persons.
2015 Proposed Work Plan Review
Each board or commission chair reviewed their respective board or commissions 2015 proposed work
plan. The City Council offered comments and suggestions. Staff will incorporate any additions into the
draft plans and they will be finalized before year end.
There being no further business, Mayor Pro Tern Swenson adjourned the meeting at 6:59 p.m.
