OF THE CLOSED WORK SESSION OF THE
EDINA CITY COUNCIL
HELD AT CITY HALL
MARCH 3, 2015
5:05 P.M.
Mayor Pro Tem Swenson called the meeting of the Edina City Council to order at 5:05 p.m.
ROLL CALL
Answering roll call were: Members Brindle, Stewart and Pro Tern Swenson. Mayor Hovland and Member
Staunton entered the meeting at 5:08 p.m.
Edina City Staff attending the meeting: Laura Adler, Water Resource Coordinator; Ross Bintner,
Environmental Engineer; Lindy Crawford, City Management Fellow; Charlie Gerk, Engineering
Technician; Ann Kattreh, Park Director; Karen Kurt, Assistant City Manager; Debra Mangen, City
Clerk; Chad Millner, Engineering Director; Scott Neal, City Manager; Brian Olson, Public Works
Director; Cary Teague, Community Development Director; and Pat Wrase, Assistant City Engineer.
Roger Knutson, City Attorney was also present.
SESSION CLOSED
Member Stewart made a motion, seconded by Member Brindle to move into closed session
to discuss potential real estate acquisition of the property located on France Avenue between
40th and 51St Street, PID 07-028-24-14-0001 at 5:07 p.m.
Ayes: Brindle, Stewart, Mayor Pro Tern Swenson
Staunton & Hovland absent.
Motion carried.
City Manager Neal informed the Council on the status of the City's offer to Minneapolis for the
property on France Avenue between 40th and 41st Street, PID 07-028-24-14-0001. The Council and
staff discussed the level of interest, timing and potential use of the property. Council's gave direction
to staff relative to the potential acquisition.
ADJOURNMENT
Member Swenson made a motion seconded by Member Brindle to adjourn the closed
session and reconvene in open session at 5:41 p.m.
Ayes: Brindle, Staunton, Stewart, Swenson, Hovland
Motion carried.
