OF THE CLOSED WORK SESSION OF THE
EDINA CITY COUNCIL
HELD AT CITY HALL
MAY 19, 2015
5:00 P.M.
Mayor Pro Tern Swenson called the meeting of the Edina City Council to order at 5:00
p.m.
ROLL CALL
Answering roll call were: Members Brindle, Staunton, Stewart and Pro Tern Swenson. Mayor Hovland
entered the meeting at 5:10 p.m.
Edina City Staff attending the meeting: Ann Kattreh, Park Director; Chad Millner, Engineering Director;
Scott Neal, City Manager, Eric Roggeman, Finance Director; Cary Teague, Community Development
Director; Jane Timm, Deputy City Clerk. Roger Knutson, City Attorney and Mark Ruff, Ehlers were
also present.
SESSION CLOSED
Member Brindle made a motion, seconded by Member Stewart to move into closed
session to discuss potential real estate acquisition of the property located on France
Avenue between 40th and 51 st Street, PID 07-028-24-14-0001 at 5:00 p.m.
Ayes: Brindle, Staunton, Stewart, Mayor Pro Tern Swenson
Mayor Hovland was absent.
Motion carried.
City Manager Neal informed the Council on the status of the City's offer to Minneapolis for the
property on France Avenue between 40th and 41St Street, PID 07-028-24-14-0001. The Council and
staff discussed the level of interest, purchase price, timeline, and potential use of the property. Council
gave direction to staff relative to the potential acquisition.
ADJOURNMENT
Member Swenson made a motion seconded by Member Brindle to adjourn the closed
session and reconvene in open session at 5:35 p.m.
Ayes: Brindle, Staunton, Stewart, Swenson, Hovland
Motion carried.
