HomeMy WebLinkAbout1980-10-06 HRA Regular Meeting MINUTES HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF EDINA REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 6, 1980 Pursuant to due notice given, the Housing and Redevelopment Authority convened dur- ing the Regular Council Meeting. The Mayor noted that, as a part of the City Council Meeting, the resignation of Mr. James Nelson had been accepted, and, in accordance with previous action taken by the Council whereby the Council members will serve as the Housing and Redevelopment Authority Commissioners Councilman Courtney had been appointed to the H.R.A. Commissioner Richards offered the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED by the Edina Housing and Redevelopment Authority that officers of the H.R.A. are hereby elected and hereafter designated as follows: The Mayor shall always be Chairman The Mayor Pro Tem shall always be Vice Chairman Of the remaining three members, the Council member with the greatest seniority on the Council shall always be Secretary. Of the remaining two members, the Council member with the greatest seniority on the Council shall always be Assistant Secretary. The newest member on the Council shall hold no office. Motion for adoption of the resolution was seconded by Commissioner Schmidt. Rollcall: Ayes: Bredesen, Courtney, Richards, Schmidt, Van Valkenburg Nays: None Resolution adopted. Motion of Commissioner Richards was seconded by Comissioner Schmidt for adoption of the following amendment to the By-Laws: RESOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED that Section 2 of Article III of the By-Laws of the H.R.A. be amended to read as follows: "Regular meetings shall be held without notice at the regular meeting of the Authority at 7:00 p.m. on the first Monday of each month, unless the same shall be a legal holiday, in which event said meeting will be held at the time of the next regularly scheduled Council Meeting."
