PARK TOUR

I. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Mr. Thayer MADE A MOTION to approve the Minutes of the May 13 , 1980, meeting
as submitted. Mrs. McDonald SECONDED. CARRIED.
II. PARK TOUR
The first park visited was Malibu Park where Mr. Kojetin showed the development
that has taken place since last year. Mr. Kojetin explained that the development
of this park would take approximately two years and it would contain two softball
and soccer fields. The park will be developed on an exchange basis; exchanging
gravel for work to be done by the contractor.
Other parks visited were: York Park, Yorktown Park (near low and moderate income
housing), Beard Park (we are going to have to put a parking lot in this park),
and we looked at the site for a new park in the Yorktown area. We ended up by
visiting Weber Park where we looked at the improved shelter building and the
playground area where the equipment is going to be replaced.
Mr. Kojetin pointed out to the Board that the Council has made it mandatory that
the athletic associations have the insurance coverage which has been discussed
in previous meetings. The issue of replacing the fencing at the Pavilion with
plexiglass is to be continued at the next Council meeting. Larry Laukka and
Mrs. Goetz will attend the meeting.
