Fire damages Edina home on Windsor Avenue
Edina, Minn., Jan. 17, 2015 – The Edina Fire Department was called to the 5000 block of Windsor Avenue
at 9:16 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, after receiving a call from a resident about a house fire.
Fire crews arrived to discover a smoldering structure fire with flames showing from an outside wall on the
first-floor back porch of a single-family residence. Firefighters were able to quickly get the fire under control
and contain it to the single room. A family was home at the time of the fire, but no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
“The resident did the right thing by exiting the home and calling 9-1-1 as soon as he noticed there was a fire,”
said Fire Inspector Brian Hanrahan.
The Edina Fire Department received mutual aid from St. Louis Park.
