Pedersen began work as a Police Officer Feb. 17. City Clerk Debra Mangen administered the oath to Pederson on Feb. 24. Surrounded by family, Pedersen’s wife, Shannon, pinned his badge, No. 143. Pedersen holds an associate degree in Law Enforcement from North Hennepin Community College in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. Prior to his three years working as a Police Officer for the Inver Grove Heights Police Department, Pedersen served in the U.S. Army Reserve for nearly nine years and worked as a division manager for a large masonry firm based in Minneapolis for 12 years. “I’m a problem solver and enjoy thinking on my feet. That’s why I became a police officer,” said Pedersen. “I’m excited for this next step in my career and look forward to all of the opportunities this new position will open up.” “Officer Pedersen is a very good fit for the Department,” said Police Chief Dave Nelson. “He’s polite, outgoing and great with people. He brings with him three years of police experience, but many more years of other varied experience that only add to his skill set as a police officer.” For more information, contact the Edina Police Department at 952-826-1610. -30-
