Music in Edina Summer Music in the Park Series is Under Way
Edina, Minn., June 24, 2015 – Music in Edina, the newest working group of the City of Edina’s Arts &
Culture Commission, has kicked off its summer music series, which includes a new jazz festival in July.
“We are very excited about the new Edina Jazz Festival,” said Kandace Ellis, Arts & Culture Commissioner
and chair of Music in Edina. “Edina is filled with talent, and we believe this will be a very popular event.”
The Edina Jazz Festival will be held in Centennial Lakes Park in the Maetzold Amphitheater and Hughes
Pavilion. Featured artists include Dan Ristrom, vocalist and bassist; Midnight in Moscow, a New-Orleans style
ensemble; and award-winning vocalist Patty Peterson.
The rest of the summer lineup consists of:
First John Philip Sousa Memorial Band – 8:30 p.m. Saturday, July 4, Rosland Park, 4300 W. 66th St.
Edina Jazz Festival – 5-8 p.m. Sunday, July 12, Centennial Lakes Park, 7499 France Ave. S.
Alex Rossi – 6:30-8:30 p .m. Friday, July 31, Rosland Park, 4300 W. 66th St.
“We want to build a vibrant community by bringing together as many Edina residents who love music in
Edina,” said Paul Peterson, Music in Edina member.
The summer Music in the Park events are free and open to the public. Residents and visitors are encouraged
to bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the music.
