Edina Liquor to hold paper-shredding event
Edina, Minn., Sept. 24, 2015 – Edina Liquor will hold a paper-shredding event in conjunction with its
month-long food drive to help raise money and food for the local food shelf at Volunteers Enlisted to Assist
People (VEAP), a non-profit agency serving low-income, senior and disabled people in Edina, Bloomington,
Richfield and South Minneapolis.
The event will be held rain or shine 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 24 at Edina Liquor – Southdale, 6755 York
Ave. S.
“It’s important to discard documents with sensitive data in a safe environment,” said Liquor Operations
Director Steve Grausam. “Because we don’t charge for the shredding, this will give people a chance to donate
to VEAP.”
Everyone is invited to bring personal and confidential documents for free shredding on-site, though a donation
to VEAP is encouraged. Those who donate five non-perishable food items or make a cash donation to VEAP
will receive a 10 percent off coupon for Edina Liquor.
“It’s a good way to give back, and a win-win for everyone,” said Grausam. “We keep paper out of the landfills
and help people de-clutter while helping those who are less fortunate.”
