MINUTES
Tuesday, June 12, 1979

PARK TOUR
MEMBERS PRESENT: Virginia Shaw, Chairperson; Joan Lonsbury, George Warner,

STAFF PRESENT: Bob Kojetin, Rick Jacobson, John Keprios, Cecelia Smith,

I. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
In discussion of Edina Baseball Association traveling leagues, change American
League to read American Legion Team. Mr. Wanninger MADE A MOTION to approve
the Minutes from the May 8 meeting. George Warner SECONDED. CARRIED
II. PARK TOUR
The parks visited were Grandview, Cornelia Pool, Lake Edina, Braemar and Bredesen.
Mr. Kojetin explained that the work to be done at Grandview (exchange of gravel
for construction of storm drains, entrance road and parking lots plus grading of
softball and soccer fields) would take approximately 2 years to complete. Swimming
Pool: Mr. Kojetin displayed the new design for the bath house; re -designing the
entrance so people don't have to go through the showers to enter the pool, and
bringing the bathrooms up to code for handicapped facilities. Mr. Kojetin
also pointed out the general area where the shelter building and handicapped
playground equipment would be installed. A brief stop at Lake Edina where the
ffe`ld-s are being reseeded; a stop at Braemar Golf Course (a brief look at the
work being done on #2 hole and Mr. Kojetin explained that 100 horsepower motors
are now going to have to be used for the wells instead of the 50 horsepower
motors as was anticipated), a brief drive around the Braemar complex; a look
at the new jogging path around Bredesen Park.
