MINUTES
March 14, 1978
Jack Rice called the meeting to order at 7:35 PM.
Members Present: Jack Rice, Chairman; Al Fischer, Joan Lonsbury, Virginia Shaw,
Les Wanninger, Frank Gytevan, George Warner, Mary McDonald,
Donald Pavek.
Staff Present: Bob Kojetin, Rick Joacobson, John Keprios, Kathi Barkley,
John Vallerie, Marsha Mohr, Cecelia Smith, Sue Weigle,
and Lance Woodruff.
I. APPROVAL OF MINUTES for the February 14th, 1978. MOVED and SECONDED
CARRIED.
II. Farewell and thank you given to Marcia Mohr for a great job done at
the Senior Citizen Center. Marcia will be moving to the far north
land of Manitoba, Canada, on April 7th.
Introduction of new staff members.
Sue Weigle - Recreation Supervisor, Senior Citizen Coordinator.
Cecelia Smith - Volunteer Service Coordinator.
Lance Woodruff - Golf Course, Assistant Manager.
Cake and coffee were served.
III. Carl Hansen Property
Bob Kojetin reported Hansen properties have been sub -divided into,four
lots rather than the initial three lots. Decision to table subject
until Bob Kojetin can research for further information.
The Park Board expressed dissatifaction and unhappiness with
the decision of Carl Hansen to sub -divide the property into four
lots rather than the initial three.
IV. Planning Request
S-78-4 Normandale-Carr Replat
North of W. 66th St.
East of Parnell Ave.
Don Pavek MOVED that the Park Board recommend that the City Council
require proponent pay cash in lieu of land dedication for Park purposes.
Al Fischer SECONDED, CARRIED.
V. Gun Range Report
Bob Kojetin reported a good year. Other cities Police Departments
using our facility during the day.
VI. Recreation Report
Rick Jacobosn reported:
-New brochure at the printer, ready in about 2 weeks.
-We have had registration for Baseball, Soceer and Volleyball

VII. Braemar Golf Course - Proposed Capitol Improvements
A. Irrigation system
Al Fischer MOVED that a sub -committee be formed to
investigate further details for new irrigation system
at Braemar Golf Course, SECONDED by Frank Gyetvan.
B. Proposed Capitol Expenditures.
Mary McDonald MOVED that the Park Board recommend to the
City Council stated Capitol Expenditures for Braemar Golf
Course, SECONDED by Les Wanninger, CARRIED.
Tractor for maintenance $10,000.00
100 gallon sprayer and boom 1,200.00
cash register 3,000.00
carpeting for mens locker room
and pro shop 3,000.00
replace (4) 1970 golf cars 4,000.00
21,200.00
Bob: Kojetin gave a slide show and presentation of his trip to
Russia for the International Bandy tournament.
Meeting adjourned at 11:00 PM
