PARK BOARD MiNUTES
July 9, 1974

STAFF PRESENT: K. Rosfand, B. Kojetin, R. Jacobson, M. Mohr and B. Peterson

1. Joan Lonsbury moved that the minutes of June 11, 1974 be approved as written.
Virginia Shaw seconded and the motion was approved.
10. PLANNING REQUEST S-74-9
Mr. Rosland reviewed the location of S-74-9 generally located between McCauley
Trail and Arrowhead Lake, north of Margaret's Lane and south of McCauley Circle.
Mr. Rosland pointed out to the Park Board that this particular dividing of
lots has not as yet been approved by Planning Commission; however, Mr. Luce's
recommendation was that he could like some form of action regarding the use of
the proposed property. Mr. Lucots recommendation was to accept 5% cash In lieu
of parkland dedication. Mr. Rosland also recommended cash and not to accept any
property In this particular location.
Fred Winter moved to accept the 5% cash in lieu of parkland dedipat ion if.
the Planning Commission approved this subdiviDon. George Warner seconded dnd the
motion was approved.
I 10 . GOM0ULAITY EDUCAT I ON JOINT AGREEMENT
Mr. Rosland briefly reviewed the Community Education Agreement and asked the
Park Board to road the agreement and at their next meeting to take formal action.
" This agreement to be sent to members not In attendance so that they may also
review It.
IV. Mr. Rosland described the architects' plans'for the Mint Art Center; however,
no formal action was taken by the Park Board at this time. Following the Mayor's
appointments to the formal 44th Street Property Committee, the plans will be
brought to them for thogr appr ova and then to the Park Board for final approval.
V. Mires. Shaw summarized the M.R.P.A. tour of June 25, 1974 and strongly urged
each Park Board member to participate in these activities to view other communities'
faciPitles. She stated that she was very much impressed with the playground equip-
ment in Minneapolis' park system. The tour also included the facilities at the
R;chfield Arena and the now Bloomington Pool.
