PARK BOARD MINUTES
February 13, 1973
MEMBERS PRESENT: C. Adams, j. Rice, c. F. RicharAs, P. Turnbuli and

Mr. Adams welcomed the two new Board members, Joan Qnsbury and Jack
Rice.
Dr. Baranauckas moved the minuies of January 9, 1973, he wroved as
written. Mr. Richards seconded and the motion carried.
111. ELECTION OF VICE CHAIRMAH
Mr, Rice moved hr. Richards be nominated as Vice Chairman. Dr.
Baranauckas seconded and a unanimous vote was cast for Mr. ROW.rds.
IV. FEES AND CHARGES
At the January meeting; Chairman Adams recommended a committee be set
up to rpraet with Hr. Hyde, Mr. Delon ind the Park Department Staff to discuss
fees and charges for 1173. The cna!,,mi,tte-e,, FW Richards, jack Rice and Pat
Turnbull met with the Staff Wednesdal, February 7 and the following resom-
mendations were g1von at that time:

Operating expenses were $152,065, interest on bonds and loan $30,625 and 50 -
vision for depreciation $8,400, lazving a net Mcoms of 119,039. yhe boRd
payment of 135,000 will be paid nom the golf course reserve fund.

was a sumlary of last year's operation and thn 1973 proposed budget -which

dramatics. Ali programs that are on a Waching type of basis such as judo,
horseback riding, archery, tennis, etc., are run at cost plus 'I which goes to
the Village. It was recommeoded the theater and creative dramatics be raised
to $5.
Mr. Richards showed concern that we would raise the theater and creative
dramatics fee for Just ao additional $200 for a girls' program. he recomwended
the two programs be kept at the 0113 pointing out the Village was supporting and
working with girls' activities,

After discussion, Mr. Tu-�nLull moved the,1973 recommended fees and charges
be approved as recomwerided except the fee for Weater and creative dramatics
remain at jrjDr. Baranauckas seconded and the rmtion carried.

Mr. Hasiand stated the bailer room at Aretna does not meet preseW:

Mr. Whard s requested the Park Board have an opportunity to review thea
report before it goes to Council and possibly the Board should take a tour of
the area again.

094 OPEN SPACE REPORT
The report from tha Open Space Committee was presented to the DoW for
their rev!ew. included"In this report wara potantial pnrk and apan spaces in
the Village, the ccriri'itteals rScot..x'i4,nd,,ad order of prWritles, assessed value,
of the property and means of purchasing. This report is being submitted to
Council and hopefully they W! appoint a aemmittee for a formal study. Actio-i'l
from the Park Board was tabled until the March meeting. ,
[K. BIKE PATH REPORT
At the February Qh Council meating, it was voted to have public hear -
Ings on March 5th regarding Like and commuter paths.

X. PARDURY REPORT
Mr. Rosland stnted the Farbury CommUtwo'hold their first meeting on
E hat d1rect6on should be taken with anveloping this area. The committee recom-
mended ths area no longer be Warr& to an "Parbu;y". Until on official name
is found the Park Board reaommended it be refenrcd to as tho "440 Street
Property" for mattors ofreferanna,

Hr. Rostand reported on the progress of the propQsad sadcm cente. rr, He
stated the school'Ward npProved the use of one of their schools for a p0at
student csater program Mnrch 12 - May 31. The gyps wIll be used two nlghts
a week for junior hiph students and three nights a Wnek for senior h!Qh Stu-
dents. The 111agn Council has nutherWed $2,600 for personnel supervision.

the Flea Market.
