ie Dr. Baranauc;kas moved tate minutes of February 13, 1973, be approved as
written, Mir. Rica seconded and the motion carried.
It. BIKE PATHS
Mir. Rosland reported the Council had the formal hearing for bike and
commuter paths at their Harch 5th meeting. There were major objections to the
paths in several areas of the Village two of which included WooddaleAvenue
and West Shore Drive. After listening to many of the objections, the Council
voted to appoint a committee consisting of residents both for and against the
paths to re -study the total program.
Dr. Baranauckas stated the Importance of looking to the future with the
passible energy crisis which may lead more people to riding bikes.
Mr. Richards stated he received a letter frog Mfrs. Lonsbury strongly en-
couraging the paths to be built this year.
Mr. Rice suggested possibly contacting bike enthusiasts in the Village
for their support on the project. He also mentioned that he himself chid not
like the concept of bikes and pedestrians on the same p�.ths and asked that
this be discussed further in the co witt;ee's meetings,
After considerable discussion, Musa Shaw moved tho Pari: Board re. -endorse
the concept of bike paths with general specifics to be roared out. Dr.
Baranaucekas seconded and the motion carried.
Mir. Kojetin outlined the new year -around brochure that will be printed
this year. it is hoped that costs can be cert by printing ,just one brochure
instead of tiro® Matting and addressing gold be almost cert in half,.
IV. FEES AND CHARGES
Mir® Rolland stated the Council has approved all the 1973 recommended fees
and charges and also authorized the $71,000 expenditure for the neer equipment
room at Braemar Arena.

V. STUDENT CENTER
Mr. Rosoland stated the student center opened March 12. Mr. Bruce
Anderson has been hired as Student Director and will be responsible to Rick
Jacobson and Marcia Mohr In its operation. firs. Mohr explained the set up of
the center and stated approximately 250 young people participated in the first
night's activities. The center seems to be very well received by the young
people,.
