FARK BOARD MINUTES
May 24, 1971
MEMBERS PRESENT: Messrs. Dlei:-cics, Adams and Richards
STAFF PRESENT: Messrs. Rosland, Kojetin, Jacobson and Miss Bruns

I. A quor-arii was not available so formal action could not be taken on the
minutes.
II. OLD LIBRARY SITE
Mr. Rosland reviewed with the Park Board the Village's position relative
to the old library site. The present status is the residents have 1*aken the
Village of Edina to court and the Village Council has now entered a counter-
suit. The Park Board disciLssed the matter with the residents present at the
meeting.. Although no quorum was available the Park Board members present ex-
prassed their feeling that the exchange was still a good proposition for the
Park Department.
Financial reports for three months ending March 31, 1971, and flour months
ending April 30, 1971, were presented. The March report showed net income at
$6,719 and the April report showed net income at $15,224.
Mr. Rosland stated that during the Braemar Ice Frolics dress rehearsal
Mrs. Doris Lahner, a spectator, was hit with a spotlight that fell from its
position on the platform. The accident is very serious and all investigations
have been turned over to the insurance company.
U. RECREATION REPORT
This year new activities being offered for summer programs include judo,
sailing, competitive girls' gymnastics, baton and showing of Walt Disney movies
at Braemar Pavilion Wednesday evenings during June and July. Mr. Kojetin stated
that more competitive girls' atUctics are being demanded and hopefully some of
the new programs being offered will start to meet this demand.
The Gun Range is open, for public shooting Tuesday and Thursday evenings
for small rifle shooting. Dedication ceremonies are planned for the later part
of June.

Or. Farley, 6013 DLbLin Circle, would like to donaite a part of his pro-
perty to the Village for park purposes. At present he. not sure how much lie
would sled tate but would like to know if the Park Board is interested. Mr.
Rosland suggested the Board look at the property before approving the acceptance.
