Mr. Adamn seconded nand the motion carried. A financial veport ending March 31, 1967, for the Edina Teen Center was presented and reviewed by the Board. The balance In the bank October 1, 1966j was $665.82After ten dances the prestnt balance is $85.93. Mr. Rosland stated that a meeting of the Teen Center Board of Directors was held the pre- vious week, and after Yauch discussion decided to cease activities for the re- mainder of the year. ut. 'hwvoux 't0_()LREt0.L'A'- The swimming pool financial report for 1966 and Che 1967 budget was pre- sented to the Board, The 1966 report showed a total revenue of $46,781.76. Total operating expenses including debt service amounted to $46,722, leaving a net income of 159,36x, k capital expenditure of $3,2W4 spent on the filter and $3,101 spent on the parking lot held the net income from operation down in 1966. Mr. VtoslanJ stated that the INA competitive swim club has requested to rent the municipal swimming pool during the summer montlis for practices. They would like to rent the pool in the evening after the pool closes, or in the morning prior to afl!iaial opening. They are also willing to pay a rental fee of $150 1,cm thei-C summer use. After scnje discussion, 'Mr. ojelsji6k, moved that we permit the 'YWCA swim club to rent the pool during the morrin'g hours that do not conflict with the normal use of the pool,, Mr,, Adams seccradecl and the motion carried. Approximately $7,500 is available for improvements at the Arena. Hfith this money items to be completed during the shut down period are as follows: Repairing and painting Zamboni conversion Corner bleachers Fence to ceiling on south end Electrical tort: - new circuits Hardware and locks Drinking fountain Not dog imachine Safe Additional parking Sound system Bike rack Plastic boards A lengthy discussion was held on the installing of plastic boards similar to those used at Slake School. After one full year of use, Blake reported that they are fully satisfied with them and recommend them highly. Mr. Enroth moved that the summer improvements as listed above be approved and that we install this form of plastic board. Mr. Adams seconded and the motion carried. V., SHELTERBUILLDINGS Mr. Rosland presented additional studies an the roof design of the pro- posed shelter buildings as requested by the Board at their last meeting. Plus- cussion was held an the need of shelter buildings in the Village parks. Mr. Rosland stated that shelter buildings in.certai-a areas are needed and people In the cowunity have commented in regards to the need of some form of shelter building. After much discussion, Mr. Conover moved, that vie table action an the shelter buildings for one year. Mr. Adams seconded and the motion carried. Dr. Jackson voted nay. V1. GOLF COURSE RETORT Mr. Rolland stated that the golf course committee met with Mr. . Cooper and Mr.. Hyde., Saturday morning, Harch 25. During this meeting, the committee dis- cussed possibilities on a new reservation system, a better telephone arrange- ment, and additional efforts to be made in speeding up play. The use of golf carts was also discussed and the committee recow.ended that the Carts not be used on the course this year. V11. GLEASON PROPEW-rY Mr. Rosland reported that the Gleason Property that the Village Is at- tempting to purchase to complete the Creek Valley School Park should be avail- able without having to -condemn as the Council had previously authorized. The attorney representing the property owners has heard frmi all but one crwner and a negotiated price of appro.-d-mately $3,200 an acre would probably be the Village coar. Rosland reported that tile County has shown interest in the Mud Lake project to the point where matdhing furids way be available to the Village.. When Zurther information is available in regard to the County0s Interest, the Park Board will be informed. Discussion was again held on Sioux Trail Park. The owner of the pro- posed Sioux Trail Park has not as of yet deeded the actual property to the Village and is nov requesting to take an additional 100® from the park. Since it was originally to be deeded for flood purposes and the area now is too small, it was recomsended that the idea of a neighborhood park be dropped., 14r. Adams moved that this area not be designated as a neighborhood park. Dr. Jackson seconded and the motion carried.
