He stated that in 1956 Laguna Drive was vacated by Council action, However- the present attorneys' opinion is that this actian was illegal" The portion that was vacated was Laguna Drive east of the intersection of Wooddale and Laguna. The vacation gave one half of the 8treet to the Halings and one half to the Village for park property,, In 1,960 Mr. French, Park and Recreation Director at that time, consented to allow, Mr,, Crist 'to drive over that portion of park property to gain entrance to his back yard and to the rear entrance of his home. Mr,, French allowed Mr. Crist to do -this in order to gain public access to a point of land that is known as Cornelia Point and is park property which is totally inaccessible except over Mr, Crist's property,, The present attor- neys' opinion is that Mr. French could -not authorize such an action. Therefore, ae, it presently stands, Laguna Drive is not vacated nor is it legal for Mr. Crist to drive over park property,, However, now he can drive on Laguna Drive Mrs,, Haling's attorney requested the Park Board not allow fir, Crist to continue to drive across that stretch of land.
