Mir. Rosland a:od Miss Bruns OTHERS PRESENT:: Mrs,, Taylor., Mrs. Palmer and Dr. Ayers 1. Mr. Lewis moved that the minutes of September 12, 11367, be approved as written. Mr. Conover seconded and the motion carried. 11. TEEN CENTER REPORT Mr. Rosland reviewed with the Board the past history of the Peen Caen - ter. He stated that in -&e past, Teen Center was holding their dances in the school. This involved paying for rental of the gyro' and overtime for custodians. As a result Teen Center was starting to operate in the red. The School Board and School Administration has indicated a willingness to help the Village of Edina with Teen Center activities by offering free use of school facilities. Dr. Myers, Superintendent of Edina School District x`273 was present at the meeting and stated that a resolution is being presented to the School Board at their next meeting indicating their interest in Teen Center by pro- viding free use of the school facilities :dor their dances. .The School Distract indicated that they would offer these free facili- ties to the Tillage of Edina if the Village would sponsor the Teen recreation activities with a Board similar to the present Teen Center Board as an advi- sory group„ If this resolution is passed by the School Board, it will be forearded to the Tillage of Edna. for their consideration and acceptance. 1111. RECREATION REPORT The fall football program will be ending Monday, November 13. This year 450 boys participated in the program. The third session of skating instruction has started and a total of 348 youngsters registered for than seven-vecelc session, Hockey and ski registration will be starting within the next week. This year in our ski program, a new junior racing programa for children 6=13 years of age has been added. Edina Pai�k &�.iard Mian es _2�2 November 7, 1967 IVB GOLF COURS-9 WORT T The finannoial report for the golf vourse or nine months ended Sep- tember ep-to er 30, 1967, was reviewed by the Doe -rd. The Park Board indicated satisfaction with t°be financial statement and felt that the operation, of the golf ca se: for 1967 would be able to pay its opera` ion costs as well as its bonded indebtedness. Mr. Di ercks reported to the ;hoard. on, the golf course committee meeting held with Mr. Cooper„ Mr. Rananells and four merbers of the Edina Men's Club, Mr. IDi rcks requested -that the ,golf course coramittee meet in the near future -to discuss the operation of the golf course for next year. 'the financial statement -for Braemar gena for nine months ended Sep- tember 36, 1969, was presented to the Board. Revenue of this date was $$85,304 compared to $66,635 this time last year. Expenses for the nine months in 1967 totaled $79,205 wad $76,329 in 1966., There was a $6.,099 net income for this time in 1967 compared to a $9,69's loss last year at this same time,, VI. SWIMMING POOL REPORT The financial statement Ifor the Edina Municipal Swirmiing Pool was re - vie -wed by the Park Board. This stag em not showed a $5,,567.69 net profit as of Se'p'tember 30, 1967 The park Board briefly discussed rear+ for next year's operation.
