PARK BOARD MINUTES
June 6, 1966

1. A quorum was not available for the June Park Board meeting so no

Nx. Rosland stated that the swimming pool opened June 4th and that
the pool has received two coots of paint. New filters and a water control
valve beve been installed.
The full complement of summer maintenance staff will be available
starting June l3tb and many maintenance items will be brougAt up to date
within several weeka.
Dandelion control bas been relatively effective despite the very
adverse weather conditions. N1. Rosland stated that he talked vith Dr.
Watson, agronomist with Toro %nufecturing, and he concurred that this was
one of the worst dandelion seasons he has seen. it was discussed that a
possible fall spraying could help with our control program on the dandelions.
Mr. Xojettn reviewed with the Park Board the awmamer brochure that
was sent to all residents in the Village. He reported that registration
would start the evening of June 7th and that all possible preparations have
been mode to insure a fast registration.
The Park Board members present showed an interest in the number of
employees that we hire in the summertime and requested a complete list for
the next Park Board meeting.
IV. Tip R. ASA
All work is progressing raPidlY at Braemar Arena for the opening
date of June 20th. The dasher boards have all been rebuilt, new team boxes
have been built, and the concrete floora have been sealed. Painting of the
bleachers and walls in the lounge area will be completed by the opening date.
Rubber matting from Minnesota Trow ng has been laid in the lounge area and
the public uashvooms an the lower level.

it was discussed that �qe install PlexiSlas only behind the two team
boxes and the balcony. If our problems were not too acute, we could install
Plexig2aa around the sides of the dashers at a later date. In place of the
Pleuiglas a wire net would be installed to protect the spectators.

Park Board members on this natter.
Prior to the publiention of these minutes, the Park Board Members
available were polled and a quq-rum of votes were received in favor of the
above proposal.
V. GOLF COURSEU,,'�PORT
ldr,, Resland stated that *Xro Cooper �,7as in need of power and liabts
in the Paw 3 building. After checking Into the problem and receiving pro-
posals from several companies, Mr. Rosland recommended that the Park Boat4
approve the expenditure of M23 fOT the installation of underground wiring
to the Par 3 building wblc'h would include electrical.outiets and lights in
the building. The underground vire would have ample capacity to light the
driving range at a later date.
As there -#,as no quorum present, Mr. Rosland was asked to poll the
Park board members on this matter.

available were polled and a quorum Of votes were received In favor of the
above proposal.

Mr. Rasland stated that the architectural firm Of PQttee, Stahl, and
Wolf has been retained to ,ive t1le paTk'Board fotir architectural sketches

of shelter buildings and cost estimates. This study will cost the Perk Board
$400.
Brauer and Associetes are now preparing a feasibility study for mud
Lake and it should be available for tjje Park ftar4 re-eeting in July.
Bids for the tennis c"rts at Pamela Park have been prepared and
advertised and will be opened June 1-7tb.

VII � TEEN GENITER UPORT
Dy. Ja6kson reported on the aniitial Teen Center meeting. He pointed
out that the second year of Operation Was successgul and also financially
successful.
He stated that there has been some discussion as to combining Teen
Power and Teen Center but no action bas been taken on the matter.
Vill. The July Park Board meeting will be held July 11th due tO the FOUTtb
of July holiday.
