11. RECREATION REPORT
Mr. yojetin reported to the Park Board membars that several
weeks ago a meeting vas held coneer-ning Gun, Safety in the Village
of Edina. In attendance were Wipperman, Dr. Eivan, Mr.. Stevens,

connection with the Optizoist Club, their prime objective being the
advancerzaeut of Gun Safety in the Village. 'Vile first.th Step this gr-4uP

. Dr. Zackson reported that the Teen Center is again usi% the

Southdale Auditorium. He reported that the Teen Center is financially
breaking even and the Aventure so faz has beez a success. viz. Stevens,
on behali of the AT KaQ, thanted Dr- jacksOn Or the time he has
spent in copnection v thy Teen CeMer.
V. ICE FACILITY
Mr. Glebink, chairmnn of the ice Facility %mmittee, reported
that Mr. vtqUolaa as submitted the feasibility studY Or the
pvvposeA ice facility. Mr. NicRolasls Estimoted revenue for six
months4perAtion is $77,655.00 which includes an estilmated ze7enue
of $27,090.00 from the Kim Conference Hockey. The estimated
operating expense for 7 months is 174,167.45, leaving an estimated
surplus of 43,487.55. mr. Gieb0% stated taut the total cost of
building, ice equipment an4 earth oro is estimated bemeen $450,000
and $475,000.
Mr. es land pointed Put to the Park Board members the proposed
site for the building, This site is located on the west side of
Braemar Park adjacent to the tuo existing parking lots. The PrOPOsed
building is 150 feet by 264 feet long with a 01en roof structure.
7te seating capacity of the builAng is 3,200 people (27 inch seats).
