PARK BOARD MINUTES
SPECIAL MEETING — APRIL ?Q, 1964
MII!'[BERS PRESENT: Messrs. Adams, Crinkley, Robilliard, Jordan, Jackson,
Lewis and Stevens.
STAFF PRESENT: Messrs. Rosland and Dalen.
This special meeting was called in order to completely review the
operating statements of the six years of the swimming pool. Mr. Dalen
vent over, the report with the ren and explained to them fully the operating
schedule that he had prepared. Questions arose from the men of the Park
Board as to where the payment of the principle was on the report. Mr. Dalen
reported that the principle for payment of the pool was.,urdenivritten by
this particular item. Discussion ensued about this operating statement and
Mr. Dalen pointed out that next year he would also give the men a cash fund
statement which would point out exactly how they stand in'dollars.
Discussion also continued about the provision for depreciation.
Mr. Dalen pointed out that the pool and bathhouse was being depreciated
over 33 years while the filter and fixtures were being depreciated over
_ a 10 year period. He pointed out, however, that because.in theory this
money is being used to cover the principle that when the depreciation time
had run out and items would need replacement, the money would not be
available. However, the Caen of the Board felt that this was quite feasible
since future citizens could then pay for their own facility and the people
now would not be paying in theory fox the pool for people 30 years from
now. After some further discussion, it was recommended by Mr. Rosland
that the pool fees be set as they were last year; $12 for the family,
$5 for an individual, $6 for Morningside residents under l9°and 75� general
admission.
Mr. Lewis moved that we approve the fees as recommended but review the
fees very carefully next year. Mr. Jordan seconded and the motion carried.
Mr. Robilliard moved and Dr. Jackson seconded for adjournment.
