Crinkley moved that the rludnutes of the June 8, 1964 Edina Park Board meeting be approved as mTitten. W. Lewis seconded and the .tion c Tied. II'. GOLF COURSE A. &octresa2lep Mir. Rosland stated that the golf course is in relatively fine Shape and that the c u house is progressing to such an extent that it should be ready for the opening. The gxxll equipment will be there for the opening but will not be hooked up until after the golf course opens. He stated that the area around the clubhouse is now being sodded and some of the asphalt paths have been laid. Mr. Rosland also reported that the driving range is in reaeration and has been doing quite well. He stated that Pkv. Li.ndboe hes been hired to massage the grill. She has had many years of experience along these lines and under her direction things Erre moving smoothly. 1&. Rosland staters that a soccer field has been laid out gust south of the Dewey Hill Road entrance and east of the perimeter road. A soccer match has been scheduled Sunday, July Ig between the Edina Soccer Club and. the Stout State College Soccer Club of Wisconsin. This watch will be in conjunction with the dedication cerew.oni.es. Mr. Rosland mentioned the possibility of a Hole -Ing -One contest to be held the same day as the dedication ceremonies. The Park Board agreed with this and a Hole -Ire -one contest will be held. R. my.1imeni- Tickets . Rosland stated that the question has been raised as to whether complimentary tickets wou?d be issuod. A discussion followed in which it was pointed out that .a precedent would be set and that it would be difficult to detexmi.ne to rihom these tickets should be issued. ft. Stevens stated that the question has been .raised as to whether 3.2 beer should be sold at the Prawmar Golf Course. After sorno discussion In regards to this natter. h0r. Stevens stated that bath he and Mr. Diercks are very firm in their opinion that herd liquor should. not be sold at the golf course because it is a public recreational facility. W. CTinkley stated that he agraed with these thoughts but felt that the nark Board shovid not be tell -Ung the people of Edina wthat to do and that vie should {malt until the situation anises before a decision is reached. After some further discussion, Mr. Robin ard moved that we recon and to the Council that hard Uquor should not be permitted to be sold or brought in to the Braemar Golf Coarse. Some of these ire the Olympic games for all playgrounds, the theater play, crab softball playoffs, a swim most and the swim show. It was pointed out that several complaints have been registered on the volume of the paging systen at the pool and also the Mint of paging that is done. A discussion followed in which Air. Rosland assured the earls Board that an effort will be made to curtail this situation. W. CQ UNITY ICE CENTER Mr. Stevens stated that no farther meetings have been held in regards to the ice center. He asked Mr. Robiliiard to chair a committee composed of Mr. Giebink and Dr. Jackson uhich would investigate the possibility of an Ice center and present to the Board their findings on this. Mr. Robil.liard agreed to do so and said that he would get his comittee going as soon as possible.
