Planner Aaker explainedWe applicant is requesting a 2 ft fence height variance to allow an 8 ft fence against Hwy 100 and the Crosstown Hwy 62 on-ramp. The Zoning Ordinance allows for a maximum fence height of 6 ft in the side and rear yard areas. The owner would like to screen Hwy 100 and the Crosstown on-ramp from his property. The homeowner has indicated that the fence is needed to mitigate the noise of two separate and adjacent highways. The owner has stated that the subject home is the closest house to both highways in the neighborhood.
