Letter from Miss Katherine Pearce of Chicago, who owns property abutting this plat, was considered and discussion had as to use of property and relation to streets. Since this is all residential zoned property now, and Southdale Realty are not asking that it be rezoned, motion was made by Mr. Hiatt to recomrend approval of this plat, seconded by Mr. Odell, all in favor and motion carried. 10- James Addy's Final Plat of Rutledge Avenue and Division Street, on which a hearing was had February 27, had not been received and there was no further information regarding it. No action was taken. 11® Herb. Bloombergvs request for action on the Final Plat of Colonial Grove V, was considered. Since the Final Plat conforms to the Preliminary in every respect, motion was made to recommend approval, subject to an engineering check and subject to proper street and storm sewer grades. Motion seconded, all in favor and carried. Consideration of Fir. Bloomberg's request to adjust lot lines of Lots 5 and 6, Block 2, Colonial Grove III Addition, was given and approval recommended. Mr. Bloomberg explained that -there was an easement of 5 feet on these lots which was never used and asked for ap-proval on release of this easement. Motion was made to recoiarand approval on elease,) seconded and carried. Mr. Bloomberg's request for approval of building permit on Lot 3, which is less than the minimum width required, was considered and motion was made, seconded and carried to recommend to the Council that a hearing be held on this matter. 12- Ralph Kucklils Replat of Lots 5, 61 71 8 and 9, Block 1, Countryside Addition, was considered and approval was recommended. Mr. Hiatt made a motion that Planning Commission look with favor on this replat, motion seconded, all in favor and carried. Mr. Kuckli was asked to bring in a Final Plat. 13- Mr. Al. Huber preser?.ted a replat of the East half of Lots 1 and 2, Block 12, Normandale Addition. This is a plan to divide the two lots into five, all of the lots being over the minimum required; ho -never, because of the pattern of the lots (two 121/ foot front lots facing Parnell and three 84//foot front lots facing Virginia), motion was made by Rudy, seconded by Odell, and carried to table this matter until such time as Mr. Huber presents the evidence that his neighbors are in accord with plans for these two lots. 14- Bertramson's Final Plat of Claudia Ridge was presented with approval recommended subject to an engineering check. Motion was made, seconded and carried to recommend approval in accordance with the engineer's suggestion. 15- Mr. Resop and Mr. Jas. Eriksson were present and explained that they were not requesting a vacation of Ades kirenue, but only that Adams Avenue not be opened up. Mr. Ericksson presented a sketch show. -Ing existing streets, Mr. Resop stated that he had had a meeting with fir. Firssell of Hopkins and Mr. Hyde and that both agreed that they could see no reason why we would need to open Adams Avenue. Members of the Planning Commission felt this was a legal problem and suggested that Pair. Eriksson get in touch with the Village Engineer and that the two of them work this out with the Village Attorney, then come back to the Planning Commission for a recommendation, if such is necessary. Members felt this was very co_endable and asked Mr. Boran if he was willing to put it in writing, which he said he would. Discussion was had as to use of fun::s for park purposes but no definite decisions were Made. Suggestion was made, however, to use such fjznds, if possible, to benefit the area in which the plat is located. Motion was made to recommend approval of plat as a preliminary., seconded and carried; subject to an engineering check. l;- Evans Addition, a Preliminary of property East of France, South of 62nd Street: was presented with a recommendation that it be tabled due to the crosstown routs not being definite and because a cloverleaf might be needed at France Avenue. Mr. Braddock asked for a more decisive opinion so that they could either aba:.~o.i the project rnw or know that there was a chance that it would be approved in tha near future, but members felt they could not give it at this time. Motion was made, seconded and carried to table it. 1B® Rearrangement of Rosendahl's II Addition to Edina highlands was presented, along. with a letter of explanation. The request was to exchange a portion of the -,mrk property for some land owned by Nr. Rosendahl.. Motion was made, seconded and carried to refer this matter to the Park Boardo A Mr, J. W. Sloan, 5228 Duncraig Road, was present and was interested in tix� request. He is president of the Edina Highlands Home Oviners Association and requested that the suggestion be referred to their association for study also. 19 Mr. P L. Kenealy .:asked permission to sell half of Lot 5 and half of Lot 6, Block 3, White Investmnt Company's Hidden Valley, to a man who wants to build a house on it. The sketch of the lots in this block was studied and after consideration,, motion was iw de to recommend to the Council that a permit be issued providing he conforms to the building code. Motion seconded and carried. 20- Mr, Jerry Carnes presented a request to rezone the triangle just South of the Motel on Highway 169, in order to erect a Hobby Court„ He stated that they would like to build a m1,000,000 building, with two stories, 200 x 500 feet, on a 19 acre :;~°a.^.;
