STREET NAME CHANGE from Tylex l=vanue to Tyler Court MIS briefly dis-
cussed. Since the Post Office hid given approval and there ivas no other
oppos tion, motion in iavor was Made by F01ey, seconded by Gustafson and
carried.
SIGN ORDINAW-E L4 -Lf -l' viEAi3. Mr. Hite pointed ou'c to the Commission than.
the Village Sign Ordinance prop biied any signs within the required front
yard setback of the Regional Shopping District. He recornended that the

Ordinance be armended so that it- would permit, on each platted lot within
the district, one sign riot to e,:coed 48 square feet. Ne added that such
a sign should be for inforn;ati.onal purposes and should not advertise any
oroduct sold at that ?oceition. This annandi7ent would recognize the so-
calie6 "banjo signs" vaich arc prosei-Cbly located adjacent to many filling
stations �irt th:, regional Shoppirg District. Mr. Patton of the Texaco Com-
pany and Mr. Robert Crabb of Southdale Real -LY were present and commented
favorably on che pxoposed ordinance charge. The Commission expressed
generally favorable reaction to -the proposed change and asked that the
aryen6ment be drawn up and re ---resented to them at their March meeting.
PROPOSEDD LONG RAND PERK PLAN report was presented to the Planning Com-
mission members. h1r. Lewis bxiei ly pointed out- several of the itens in-
cluded in the report.

960 PLANNING_ PROMAM. Air. Hite presented to •che Commission a proposal
for a Planning Program for 1960. He extol ained that the Council had, at
their lzs- meeting, indicated their willingness to approve additional
money _or consulting, service if the Commission would outline a program
for the use of such se vices. He pointed out that the program proposed
:could include a lark: use study and the prepa,x'ation os a major thorough-
fare plan. After sonic discussion, lklr. Gustafson moved that the proposed
program be recoinrrended to the Council and Chea, i-_ approved by them, Mr.
Elite should contact soin:e consultants -i.0 secure their proposals before
the %arch Y�eet ng. N.r. Griswold seconded �,nd moL i en carried.
