Members Present: T. L. Todd, Chairman, 10ft,. 'IN. Lewis, Leonard Odell, John
Foley, David Griswold; George Hite, Planning Director
The meeting was opened by Mx. T. L. Todd, Chairman.
I. A motion was rmzide by Vir. Levis and seconded by Wx. Odell to approve the
minutes of the April 6, 19609 raee•ting with the stipulation that the
inst paragraph of Ty,_n V. S-60-11. Southdal _P,oartment Addition, be a-
mnded to read as folloJrs:
"A preliminary plat of the Pearce property which is adjacent to -the South -
dale apartment property was Pxhibitod to the Commission and it was noted
that the proposed Fearcp and Southdal.e plats viere based upon similar lot
layouts. After a cons.derahle discussion, a motion to approve theme South -
dale preliminary nl. rt vias made by f,Ir. Griswold, seconded by MT. Lewis and

Z-60-7. Randolf A,_ HIone._ See ftlinutes of April u, 1960) Mr. Hippe's
requsst for the rezoning of a part of Lot 22, Block 2, Peacedale Acres,
from Open Development to P.,ul.tiple Residence was again presented to the
Commission. it was Telt that the neer plans bund submitted were an im-
provement over those previously considrt-nd. Approv.s! was given on motion
by Mr. Levris, seconded by Pair. Odell and carried.
111. ZONING WP,'_(ANCE REQUESTS
V•-60-5. Wel-Bil.t Homes. inc. (See Minutes of April 6, 1960). The peti-
tion of Mr. Hanson for permission to plat the North 60 feet of Lot 10,
Block 4, Mendel_ssohnob Addition. (300 Blake Road) was again considered by
the Commission. Following a brief discussion, a motion to deny was made
by P,I_•. Odell, seconded ?iy hir. and carried.

T(dd c,uggested that the PInnning Co^niissi.on be specifically named as a
rc,Actjsing 7utho^ity in addi•cion to the Council.
Mr. Lewis moved •that the ordinance be amended to include the suggestions
make this evening and that it then be recoirnended to the Council for ap-
proval, seconded by Wer. Griswold and carried.
Building Flans - Edgemoor Anar ra aw r.. Pl,.r. Roy Peterson presented for ap-
proval his plans for the Your 18 -unit apartments to be built on Block 9,
Stows Fdgemoo_ Addition. The Corimission gave without reservation, it's ap-
proval to the plans for the buildings, bu•c suggest,od tha;, the dc-veloper
should continue to seek a erose satisfactory si-Le Dien.
Pearce Kp'--on nq. Pu!r. ,I:ivlynard Hasselquist, Village Attorney, briefed the
Commission on the stritus of -the Pearce tis. Vi.ilage of Edina zoning case.
After discussing the case nt some length, the Co.=fission unanimously ex-
pressed the opinion -that the Villaga should proceed -L-.o have the present
ruling romoved as an uncontested cGurt finding.

wil-1h Lhe Colmission tic distinction between non -conforming and illegal
land uses, Ky'.. HI -I tE suer csted that the forthcoming land use studies
would disclose a number V o such uses and that the village should be pre-
pared to deal F,ith caicm properly.
