IV. OTHER BUSINESS
1. Johnson -Burton Prove=. NW Corner Crosstown and Tracy Avenue.
Mr. Hoiaingtan reported that he and Mr. Hyde had met with
Messrs Johnson and Burton about the development of their property and the
possibility of their selling apprm-timately 2 acres to the Village. The
asking price was too high. Mr. Hoisington wanted an indication from the
Commission on their thoughts for the development: of this property.
Mr. Hue -es stated that he would be happy with single family
hosres. Fir. Clay noted that perhaps ta-sahouses with single family density
would be appropriate. It was the general opinion of the Commission that
some type of lower density residential development would be best.
No action taken.
2. P.C.H. Co. Sime PK2PeatV.
The developers of this property are looking for some
direction from the Commission. At the December meeting, several site
plans were presented shoi,7ing different varl.ations of multiple uses ranging
from R--3 to R-5. At that time, the Commission accepted the proposal for
study.
Mr. Cardarelle stated than he was working with Mr. Hoisington
on the development of the single family properties on the northerly portion
of the property. They were now beginning to ;et closer o a better
development and he hoped to bring in a plat of that area within the neat
month or so.
Mr. Hoieington noted that there may be same activity on the
property directly to the west of the P.C.H. property. A shopping center
proposal is liked- to be requested in the: near future and it might be wise
to consider both requests at the save time.
me After some discussion, the Cost is cion decided to wait to see
--
about the development of the psLo
,2erty to the west and to again examine the
Western Edina _plan before tak:Lig action on this multi le development.

3. Southwestern Edina Flat.
Mr. Hoisington reported that the Cc=ission had agreed with
the overall concent of the preliminary plat and that the property owners,
except Orin Johnston, were in agreement with the plat.
Air. .Johnston, his attorney, Mr. Newhall and his surveyor,
Mr. larealson. appeared with an aerial survey and a mock up of his property.
Mr. Johnston is not happy with the alignment of the road through his
property. He wishes the road to go farther to the east. His reason for
this is that he has no intention of developing his property.
If the road were to be placed farther to the east, it would
not benefit those properties facing Cahill Road as development along
Cahill would use Cahill Road. The developers would pay for two roads and only
one would benefit the property.
After considerable discussion on the location of the road
and the possibility of moving it and the possibility of building the road
as development demands, Air. Hughes moved that thematter be tabled and
that a s ecial meeting be called to dupcuss the (rverall Southwestern lan
concept. Mr. Johnson seconded the motion. All Voted, Afire. Motion Carried.
4. Zoning_ Ordinance Amendments.
The proposed amendments are the result of those proposals
made to the Commission two months ago. The only question was the storage
of trash and garbage incinerators. Air. Hoisington asked Mfr. Nugent's
opinion on that section.
APir. Nugent stated that he felt it was a good section and
should be included in the ordinance.
Mr. Nugent moved that the ordinance provisions be approved
and forwarded to the Council for action 14r. Hiatt seconded the motion._
All Voted Aye. Aladin Carried. --
