The property is approximately two acres in size and would accommodate 45 F-4 units if rezoned. Existing zoning in the area consists of RI 3 to the west, R-1 to '.he north and 0-1 both to the south and east. The moratorium on apartment rezonings has been extended to October 1, 1969, which means Council could not act on this matter until that time. The staff recommends approval of the rezoning for the reasons stated in the staff report. Mr. Ruel.:ater moved that the Ccmmisasion recommend approval of the proposed R--4 ?oning for the following reasons, 1. Sai'6 rezoning is crsr:si.st.cnt with the plan for the Roberts property which calls for R-6 and office zoning north of the site its quess:i.tn. 2. It has good exposure and will provide: a needed service in the Grandview area. It does not threaten creeping, commercialism since it is well contained by Highway 100 and existing office, commercial and industrial developments in the area. The staff recommends approval of the proposed rezoning for the reasons stated in the staff report. After some discussion, Mr. Huelster moved that the Commission recommend approval of the proposed rezoning for the following reasons: 1. The requested rezoning is a logical extension of existing C-2 zoning to the northwest. 2. A restaurant is an appropriate use for the site in question and is generally in keeping with the more commercial character of existing development in the area. Mr. Hatt seconded the mo. -Lon. The requested R-3 ronin` wo"ld permit 28 units and would permit zptartments to be cons:ructed on the site, however, it might be wise to impose additional t-asta:ic :i.o:as if the zoning is to be approved.
