There was some discussion by the Board as to the merit of the oaks and the guarantees of the various plantings. It was suggested by 164r. Brauer that the Park; Board ask' for a one year and a two year guarantee as well as no guarantee. It was moved by Mr. Jacus that we advertise for bids on the proposed base bid and alternates l and 2a submitted by Harrison Brauer . Rippel with the one and two year guarantees. Danens & Son was the low bidder on the earthwork; C. W. Houle was low bidder on the seeding and sodding with guarantee. Harrison . Brauer . Rippel presented 3 alternate plans that the Park Board could accept as to the direction they might take. The first plan consisted of J. A. Danens 8 Son doing the complete work with all the alternates in which the Village would absorb A deficit of $560 over the $8259000 proposed budget. The second alternate would be if the Village took the full responsibility of all the alternates including the seeding and sodding. This would leave the Village with a: proposed contingency reserve of $38,325.60. The alternate that Harrison . Brauer . Rippel recommended was - the partial deletions, in which J.,A. Danens & Son would be awarded the base bid and alternates A-1, AR2t, A-3a, A-4 and A-8 for a total of $4129849.40. The seeding and sodding would be awarded contract to C. W. Houle for $459400.00; thus, with the irrigation work, the plantings and the non-bid work, it would give the Village a total proposed cost of $8209199.40 for the construction of its golf course. This would give the Village a contingency reserve of $4,800.60 based on its anticipated $8259000 budget. A Special fleeting Minutes, February 99 1963 cont'd Page 2 `d Ur.
