MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
EDINA HERITAGE PRESERVATION BOARD
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 27, 1992, AT 7:00 P.M.
EDINA CITY HALL MANAGER'S CONFERENCE ROOM
MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Gary Nyberg, Marilyn Curtis, Herman
Ratelle, and Donald Wray
STAFF PRESENT: Joyce Repya
I. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES:
Herman Ratelle moved for approval of the minutes from the May
26, 1992, meeting. Marilyn Curtis seconded the motion. All voted
aye; motion carried.
II. CERTIFIED LOCAL GOVERNMENT PROGRAM:
Ms. Repya-advised the Board that the City Council, at their
October 19, 1992, meeting approved the pursuit of Certified Local
Government status by the Heritage Preservation Board.
Board members submitted their resumes which will become part
of the application package. No formal action was taken.
III. MEMBERSHIP:
Ms. Repya reminded the Board that there are currently two
vacancies on the HPB due to the resignations of David Gepner and
Lynn Barrett. She asked the members to submit the names of
interested candidates they might know to fill the openings and she
will in turn, forward those names to the mayor.
Discussion ensued regarding possible candidates for the Board.
No formal action was taken.
IV. OTHER BUSINESS:
Chairman Nyberg announced an upcoming conference in Madison,
Wisconsin on March 27, 1993. The topic"Breaking New Ground on Old
Buildings" involving historic architecture and landscapes in
Wisconsin and Minnesota looks very interesting. A call for papers
has been announced with a submission deadline of December 11, 1992.
