YX DSDIGATICAv LF LAN D,FORTUgLIC PUR-P,OSES ALS 3,01i I MY, French stated that Planning DirAtor George Hite hed requested that the park Board discuss the Village policy of requiring 100 feet on each side of the center line of 9 mile creek. nith plats coming in now all along this stream it would be better to have a more workable statement of policy. The present ordinance simply requires that one hundred feet on each side of the creek be dedicated for public purposes. . -park Board discussion brought agreement that these points needed con sideration in the development of a workable policy. 1. Any policy should provide uniformity and fair treatment to developers. 2. Some evaluation needs to be made of the quality -of land involved. S. Recognition of the fact that "public purposes" -may include park purposes. 4. It is important for the Village to acquire the lAnd on both sides of the creek. 5. if in reqiiring QdWtion of 100 feet on'either side of the creek. the amount of land so taken should be in excess of 5% of a given plat, and the land is highv then for the amount in excess of 5Z - compensation should be made Othat consideration be given to setting a contour eleve4ion to work in combination with 100 feet on both sides to arrive at a suitable line; further that such a line be s0ked outy surveyedt and then located on a map. Mr. Stevens was appointed a ccmmittos of onn to write up a proposed statement ci policy which is to be submitted to thsjoard before the next regular meeting.
