reviewed tion developed into :an
intensive di s-aussion or h®eke`= rink at 52nd and Arden Palk. These facts were
1. That ;n worki.ng'out an agreeable pian between _the proponents and
opponents of development of this area, the Village promised to take
down at the end of the skating season, the hockey rink and lighting poles.
2. That very belatedly the hockey rink was removed, and even thea, in
two stages.
3. That the power poles viere not moved because of the exlorbitant ex-,
pense involved, particularly in petting back in and in rewiring.
4. That failure in living up to a commitment had strained Oublic relations,
particularly with some of:the neighbors who fronted on the park.
5. That if the position taken by the Village! in %6ich the commitment
to removes after each skating season, the hockey rink and poles proved
to.be an unwise one from: a cost standpoint, then before embarking upon
a different course of action,-; and to kee fai

There was complete agreement that a letter should be wTitten to those
People who acted as representatives on the committee on Arden Park development
plans; that this letter should express regrets and set forth clearly the cost
factors . i.n`solved in leaving the hockey rind: up, taking do^mn partly, or completely

By common consent it rao agreed that the baseball budget could be
reduced by having tete E -M Junior Baseball League buy its own bats wid base-
balls. Also that it seemed fitting that they do so. However, the baseball
league should be consulted on this action before it takes place* Mr. French
was to bring this matter up at t%eir next board meeting.
Attached to these minutes is a copy of the rovised fee schedule and
the estimated revenue it would bi.ng.

There was general agreeMent that gore good public relations existed
with regard to recreation activities, there dere strained public relations*
with regard to park maintenance.
To improve the situation Mr. Mill offer -red a plan for the Board's
consideration wb reby each member would be responsible to check at regular
intervals,, spocific park areas. After some discussion and general acceptance
of the merits of the plan% the matter was left for Mr. French to work out a
tentative schedule of areas to be checked together with an inspection form.
This would then be reviGwred by %ir..Hill before being brought back to the
Heard.
The meeting adjourned at gtbb.
