QiMyigg Qje Mr. French rdad a letter from Harry Zimmerman, Vice -Commodore of Sports and Lakes Aquatennial Coirmil;tee,, requesting the use of the Edina Municipal Pool for the Aquatennial. The dates requested are Saturday and Sunday,,, July 25 and 26, Mw Paul Nucke, Chairmna of the Aquatennial SwimmirC Net was present to dis- cuss with the Park Board the possibilities of using the Edina Pool for the Swimming Meet. 518 arrangensnt this year would be the same as last year, with the exceptions of: 1) The fact that the Meet will be held an the weekend rather than during the week. 2) Our concession stand will be in opexalion, therefore, there should be increased revenue from the concessions. 3) Nbre publicity will be prepared. 4) As last year, the Aquatennial will proviN the bleachers and the Village of Edina will assume the rest of the obligations in. terms of facilities. Discussion disclosed that the Aqpatennial does not realize a profit from this event, but it does hope to break even if possible� An entry feeja charged each contestant for each event antere& Admission has in the past been by skipper pins, although last year this was not strictly enforced, Same thought is being given to having strict enforce- ment of admission by skipper pins and charging those not having them, or having skipper pins on sale at the gate,,. It was pointed out that the Village has an obligation o inform season ticket holders of the fact that the pool will be closed for recreational swimpdag during the Aquatennial SwinEdi ng Meet and the Edina Swinning Meet, However, an the dates of the Aquatennial Swimming Meet, the pool will be open fop publiv swimming in tha evenings and on Sunday morning. The question of public liability insurance coverage was broug-lat up andd this is to be investigated. G. Slwberg,, 4221 Dtmberry Lanej, regarding his suggestion that th& Southdale Residentts Association do something about landscaping the triangles adjacent to 66th,, across from Cornelia Park. - Ow sponsoring _ gardenso and that the local garden club in that area, might also help.
