Mr. French farther stated that he had consulted with Mr. Harris$ Supt. of Recrea-
tion in Hopkins.. to determine whether Hopkins is interested in acquiring the
right of way,, and Mr. Harris has told him that both their Recreation Commission

While on the subject of Wooddale Park the matter was brought up with regard t
the deplorable a conditio of the south bank of the creme as the result of cor-
struction by the Edina Counbry Club. last fall the Village Park Maintenance
crew did an excellent job in cleaning up eine exesk bed, but now a grewt deal o.

had sponsored several youth recreation activities such as street dances# pimios#

This year we propose to -have high school nights at the swimming pool and repeat
some of the above activitiesp and possibly smv. new ones would be added.
Mr. French proposed to save time and get an early start., that the high school
council take, on as a project the forming, of a Summer Activities Youth Council.
This group would be ogganized before school is out and the summer activities be
planned sir.organized bythis groupunder the gadance of theRecreation
Park r •
Mr. Stevens moved that the %are-ation Director be encouraged to proceed with
the organization of the Sunrier Activities Youth s iAt Mia

The idea met with considerable enthusiasm from the entire •ark Board
was advised -to contact, proper school authorities to present the proposals
Mr. Crinkley,then moved and Mr, Jacus seconded that ,., Boardencourage
idea of desimiating specific nights at the Mina Municipal + as
high school
nights and adult nights. The motion carried,

Park Board consider making such recognition perhaps 3 or 4 times a year*x
Further, since a very successful ice hockey season has just been completed
that it would perhaps be well to start the process by citing some person or
persons in the Hockey Organization itself,, for the. good job jimt completed*
As for an individual., Mr., Stevens suggested that Mr. Jack, Wright o for several

years has devoted much tims and effort to the coachinrg, of hundreds of boys*
After discussion of the pros and cons,, the Park Board approved the idea and
asked Mr,, French to prepare the necessary
materialo+ for Mr. Jack.
