With respect to quality of maintenance on ice rinks., Mr. French pointed
out that probably the biggest source of complAints came from poor :Lee on
Sunday aftbrnoon. He stated the. this was the time that more adults used the
rinks than any other. It is our practice to get the rinks in real good shape
by Friday afternoon. Heavy skating on Saturday leaves the rinks often in poor
condition by Sunday a.,-'ternoon. :;ecause our budget, wonvt permit us 'to pay time
and a half,, we cantt get, out on, week ends to clean and re -flood for Sunday.
Hencet the criticism.
The Park Board determined, that starting with 19581, it would be a grood
idea to hold Park Board rreatiiVs on the first Monday of the month in the
Council Chambers to make it easier for the public to attend and be informed
on recreation and park matters.
Meeting adjourned at, approximately 101,30 P -M,
Respectfully submitteds,
Cli-fton E. French
