Frank Jewett iori James Ritchay iilrs,# 'Clifford J& *o;umers A siotion was paseed to auspend with the reading of the :Anutes until I*ter in the meetinge A petition# which contained the names of 61 Edina residents* re quosting that the Park Board erect and saaintain a warming house and skating rink on park board property on the west side of Browndalo, and north of Bridge Street was proxentod by Mrse Sommors� chairwoman for the group of visitors listed above, It wag explained to the group that the village engineer had surveyed the kill i=ond and had advised the Park Board that having a skating rink on the still and would be unwise from a s_�fety azgloi Also, that kxi Carl fiarnondo Superin- tondont of 'Forks and Recreation in 1�innoapolis, had studied the possibility of using the area for skating and had expressed his opinion that it would 'be "fool- hardy" to establish a rink on the 1� ill Pond. The members of the Park Board concurred that having, been advised against establishing a skating rink on the Pill iond by theso, authorities on the safety of this ar6a it wou ,ldn't be wise for them to arect the warming house and skating rink desired by the signers of the petition. The group of visitors -prosent roiuestod permission to use water from a hydrant to flood the area doscribed above, Ar. IZArachauer Informed them that he would chock the legality of their using the w -Iter froca a hydrant for this purpose and if it Is legally P*mIssible 4o would ask the Ldina Fire Department for Assistance in flooding their skating rink.
